This is the shape of the day. What actually happens inside the session slots is decided on the morning, by the people in the room.

09:00–09:45
Registration
Doors open, badges, coffee. Come early if you want to talk to people before the board opens.
09:45–10:30
Opening & session planning
Welcome, how the day works, then the session board opens and fills up. This is when you claim your slot.
10:30–11:00

Sessions 1–3
Three slots, up to eight sessions running at once.
12:30–14:00

15:30–16:00
Coffee break

18:00 onwards
Afterparty
Hosted by Data Revolt Agency. Venue to be confirmed.

All times EEST. Eight rooms, eight slots, so up to 64 sessions across the day.

How a slot works

Each slot is 30 minutes end to end, and it is not 30 minutes of talking:

25 min
The session itself
5 min
Questions, and moving rooms

Plan your session for 25 minutes. The last five are for questions and for everyone to get to their next room without arriving late.

Eight rooms, eight slots

Eight sessions can run at the same time, across eight slots. None of them are scheduled in advance — the board is blank when you arrive and gets filled in during the opening, by anyone who wants a slot.

That includes you. You do not need to be invited, selected or senior. If there is something you want to talk about or think through out loud, write a card and claim a slot.

A few practical things

  • Come for registration, not for 09:45. The 45 minutes before the opening is when most of the introductions happen.
  • Lunch is in two sittings. The kitchen cannot serve everyone at once, so we will split the room into two groups and explain how it works in the opening session.
  • Eight sessions run at once. You will miss things. Everybody does. Pick one and do not agonise.
  • The law of two feet applies. If a session is not for you, get up and go to another one. Nobody will take it personally — it is how an unconference is supposed to work.
  • Keep to 25 minutes if you are running a session. Overrunning pushes everyone into the next slot late.
  • Stay for the closing. It is short, and it is where the day gets tied together.
